...and they all rolled over, and one fell out, there were 3 in the bed and the little one said Roll Over, Roll Over

Poor Max. He is stuck on his back all day long. He has to just stare at the ceiling and wonder what it would be like if he could move around.
But not anymore! Max rolled over this afternoon! Miss Lucy is very wise and tricked him into turning over. He was very calm about the whole thing.
First, he noticed that a very fun toy that says 'WHOOOOA, squeeeee, rufrufruf' was just out of reach.
Then, he started reaching for it. Miss Lucy scooched it back a few inches when he got close.
Finally, he was on his tummy.
Yay, Max!

Lunch break

Mommy and Max had lunch together today. Max looked so handsome in the chair that we had to take pictures. It's amazing how much he's changed from his newborn days!

What a helper

Sunday morning, Max helped Daddy work on the computer for a while. They had a very good time!

Look Ma, Two Rattles!

Max is able to use both hands at the same time now. This morning he played with two rattles for a long time. It worked well except when he tried to put the black-and-white ball from both rattles in his mouth at the same time - he bonked himself on the nose when one bounced off the other!

I overlooked this one putting together the USAFA reunion trip story. It's so cute I had to share!

Tummy time!

Many of you know that I've been worried about Max's tummy time performance (or lack thereof). Of course, at our 4-month checkup when I told the doctor that he won't push up, she flipped him on his tummy and he pushed right up to look around. Harumph. Today, Max had very good tummy time and was pushing up like a pro. We were very very proud of him and gave him lots of good cuddles and kisses afterward!

Old pro

Max is an old pro at the hanging thingies on his bouncy seat. He just reaches right up and grabs on!

Is that sanitary?

Max tries to put ALL of his toys in his mouth - sometimes all at once!

Award Winning Bumbo Baby Seat

The box that the Bumbo came in talked about how it is an International Award Winner and has won many, many international awards for being awesome. Ian used to crack up every time he went in the room where the Bumbo was stored - he thought it was hilarious! Max spent some time Friday afternoon in the Bumbo (award winner that it is) and seemed to like it. Then Saturday morning, he went back into the award-winning Bumbo and really got into trying to eat his big animal box-ball in it. After a while, he realized that rattles are a lot easier to eat than giant ball-boxes!

Back to Normal

Max has had a pretty boring week. We've been sticklers about sticking to our schedule, so he is back on track with getting to sleep on time and relatively easily. He's been in bed and asleep by 7:45 every night this week. He's a much happier baby during the day now that he's resting again! He's also started talking ALL THE TIME. It is adorable - he makes lots of long squeaks and peeps and aaahhhhaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhaaaahs. Ian is out of town, and this morning I woke up at 6:15 to Max talking to the baby in the mirror in his crib. He talked to that baby for 45 minutes before he needed me to go get him! I can only imagine the secrets he told that baby! Anyway, here are some cute pics of Max getting ready for bed last night and helping me out in the office this morning before Lucy got here.

Happy to be home!

Poor Max's schedule is VERY off! He was happy to be home this morning, once he finally woke up...

USAFA Reunion

Ian's 20th class reunion was this weekend in Colorado Springs. We had lots of fun touring the Academy, catching up with old friends, and generally spending time together. Here are some highlight pics: Daddy and Max in the place in the library where Daddy used to study:

Mommy and Max watched the noon meal formation from the wall while Daddy ate lunch with the cadets: Max and Daddy take in the view from the wall before noon meal formation: Max and Daddy in the hotel before we headed to the Academy to walk around Thursday. Note the adorable bears-flying-planes outfit: Max and Daddy in front of the chapel:

Awww, remember when all of our pics were of us in this pose? Daddy changing Max's diaper in a hallway outside his old squadron. He's pretty sure he never in a million years would have guessed he'd be doing this when he was a cadet! We found the old Wolfpack sign from his squadron. Now that everyone has cell phones, they'd turned the old phone room into a snack area:
We stopped by to visit Gen. Clark. He taught Ian to fly B-1s and then was his boss in Iraq. Now he's the Commandant of Cadets:
At the game. AF beat BYU, 35-14! We spent most of the game walking from end zone to end zone - Max was not a happy camper in the loud stands!
