Memorial Day Fun
I had fun puzzling over Mount Vernon as other dropped in and out, and Evelyn staged her own parade in our driveway.
A dog's life
We are all mildly obsessed with the strange poses we find Piper in while she naps. She cracks us up!
Student of the Month
Evelyn presented her Student of the Month poster to the entire second grade today. She did a great job!
She works hard
Evelyn recorded her book reading for the Heroes Project. There's never been such a compelling book about Hillary Clinton!
Boys Just Want to Have Fun
Max has been keeping busy these days. He's enjoyed organizing his baseball cards in 100s of different ways. The driveway has become the scene of dramatic battles, full of anti-aircraft gunfire aimed at the bikers traveling the way. For the capstone project of the flight unit in science, Max and Ian built a kite from materials found around our house (and sticks from the backyard!). It flew!

We're gonna summer like it's 1989
It was FINALLY a warm, sunny day today. We enjoyed beautiful flowers on our walk, did the day's school work on the deck (Evelyn had a class Matilda-watching party to celebrate the end of the last unit so she got to wear PJs all day), and then set up the Slip 'n Slide for some SERIOUS fun!

Life Goes On
Lots of fun playing with the Sigler boys.
We keep on learning!
Evelyn loved doing the Grandparents' Day activities with Steve, Tricia, Louise and Henry!
The kids decided to cook dinner tonight and made the most delicious salad we've had in weeks!
Snuggles on the sofa in the morning while we get breakfast ready. Love these sweethearts.

Front Steps Project
One of the neighbors is taking photos for the Front Steps Project. It was fun to capture this moment in time, and has been super fun to see friends from across the city pop up on his feed!

Nature Walks
Evelyn joined Ian and me for our afternoon walk, and was delighted to spot these bright purple irises as tall as she is.
We got a new tree from the city's tree canopy program today in the front of the yard. We took a photo with it as a family and just with the kids so we can watch it grow; and someday THEIR kids can take a picture with the tree planted in 2020.

Bucket List
I've had running the 10 miles from our front door to the Capitol on my bucket list for a while. Sunday morning was not humid, overcast but warm enough for shorts, and felt like the perfect day for a run. So I did it!
QuaranTEN
What a day we had celebrating Max's first decade! The day started with a balloon drop when he opened his door, a 10-year shirt, and a sunrise walk with Mom and Piper. Then it was the first surprise drop-by, from Ms. Komnick, and then on to a scavenger hunt for cards from more than 30 friends, swimming in Mr. Bonzo's pool, hooking up the online Battlefront, and then presents before Guapo's while we watched A New Hope. Oh, and of course there was ice cream cake to top it off. We all agreed that quarantine birthday was one of the best (and busiest!) birthdays ever!
