Stone Soup Celebration

Max's school had a school-wide celebration for Thanksgiving. The Butterflies painted stones for their centerpiece.  Some teachers acted out the story Stone Soup, and the kids all ate the soup they had prepared together after the play.
Max and his friend Kiran got to play together in the kitchen before the party.
Max was very focused on the play.
With all 9 classes in the room, it was filled with energy but not a peep was made during the story.

Max ate every bite of his soup!

Notes to self

  • We had Max's parent-teacher conference last week.  The teachers say he is very advanced verbally, is good at sequencing events, and has an advanced sense of humor.  It was nice to hear all the good things they have to say about him, as it seems like they really enjoy having him in their class.
  • Max knows that sharing is good, particularly when someone else has what he wants.  At some point in the last several dinners, Max has looked at Ian and said 'sharing is good.  Would you share your (food item) with me?'
  • Evelyn has a perma-bruise in the center of her forehead.  The poor girl takes a tumble almost every day.  But she's tough - she bounces right back up and at 'em!
  • Evelyn clearly and pointedly calls Ian 'Dada' now.  She points to him in pictures on demand, and calls his name when she hears him come home.
  • Max is very concerned about the Phillipines (they just had a tsunami cause serious devastation, future blog-book readers).  He's happy that the Army, Air Force, and Navy are going to help them, and made a long list of supplies they need to bring, including dish washers, sinks, food, stuffed animals, bandages, stoves, warm pillows, water and milk, and potties.
  • Max is starting to spell out words for us.  We can pick a word, and sound it out.  Based on the sounds of the letters, he spells out the words phoenetically.  It's a fun new game!
