Saturday fun

Bates was in town, so we headed off for a big adventure in the city.  The kids were strangely quiet while we got ready, and when I came upstairs to find them, discovered a dinosaur town.  Evelyn kept putting their mouths against her and saying 'they bite me, bite me' and then laughing hysterically.

The two friends had a great time watching the funny car movie at American History.

We also rode on the L, though it was less exciting now that we've seen the real deal in Chicago.  Max did make us stand to the side of the train until it came to a complete stop.

Sweet story time

This morning, my two friends decided they wanted to keep reading after it was time for me to start getting ready.  Max offered to 'read' to Evelyn and her babies.  They stayed together for almost 15 minutes, patiently trying to figure out the stories from the pictures together.

I found these on my camera this morning - they are from about a month ago.  I love their personalities and how they come through in every photo they take.

By land or by sea

Max was General Washington in his blue coat and tri corner hat, riding a horse and then sailing the stroller. Note Evelyn riding her own yee-ha under the stroller!

Self portraits

Last night was back-to-school at MOPS. Max's teachers were very complimentary. They said when they asked him to work on raising hands instead of calling out, he replied 'I will work on it and get a little but better every day.' And he has!

Rocket Man

Mom-kid date night at Johnny Rockets. I can't get over how much bigger Evelyn is than when we started this tradition!

We checked out the Colonial Market at Mount Vernon today.

Lunch date

Max and I are doing (most) Friday lunch dates during pre-k. Fun!

We picked dad up at the airport and headed for a park and dinner in Old Town. It was fun to be back as a foursome!

Helping Hands

Meet Max's class, the Helping Hands.  There are lots of familiar faces, like Bryn, Erin, Lilly,  Connor, and Pierce.  And lots of new friends to be made!  

 Max is really enjoying playing with all of the manipulatives in the classroom.  He's quite the builder!

Fly Boy

Daddy had been in Oklahoma for two weeks learning to fly the C-17. His first real flight was today and he aced it!

Accessorize yourself

Evelyn runs to her bows in the morning and says 'ME pick. Bow pink.' This morning, she picked her biggest, pinkest bow yet. She loves it and has walked up to several people saying 'me bow. Me pick'. She's a girl after her moma's heart!
