We had a great time family teeter-tottering at Ben and Melissa's, with an assist from Aunt Lucy.

Chattanooga Choo Choo

 

We had a great time in Chattanooga.  The Aquarium was definitely a highlight!

Max tried his first Krystal, and the verdict was... meh.

Evelyn ADORED Sophie while we visit Uncle John and Aunt Isabel.

Max and Papa Bates measured the solar system, while the rest of us hid in the car for warmth.

And we FINALLY saw Rock City.  We absolutely loved it, from the scenic vistas to the kitschy Fairyland, it was completely worth the visit!

Sometimes it got pretty dull hanging out at the house, but Max managed to survive.

Ruby Sunshine was so good for brunch that we went twice.

We enjoyed the fancy new Southwest plane and navigated the airport like pros!

Girl Time

While Max headed out with the Burnetts and to baseball practice, Evelyn and I took a cupcake decorating class and then hit the shops for some quality girl time.

 

SUPREMEly cool

Max and Ian got to witness some of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee today.  While they did that, Evelyn and I shopped at Ann Taylor in Union Station and she selected the PERFECT outfits.  We regrouped over lunch at Union Station before heading home for the afternoon.  Busy morning!

 

Oh no!

Something happened to Evelyn while she was lying in bed last night.  The next thing you know, Mom and Dad had strange itchy feelings on their faces too.  There's something going on in this house!

 

Science is SWEET

We tried a bunch of sour and sweet foods, then tried a MagiBerry tablet and tried them all again.  When the sour was neutralized, we all found lemons delicious, OJ and strawberries tasteless, and Sour Patch kids to be "weird."

 

Spring Bakers

While I put ripe bananas to use in a banana bread, the kids made panini and penne with red sauce and cheese for lunch.  Spring Break, independence, and nothing but time.  What a way to start the week!

 

Yorktown

We stopped to stretch legs and reflect on our founding on the way home from Virginia Beach.  Beautiful day to take it in!
