Missed One

I really like this one.  It was a very rare quiet moment in the Memorial Auditorium, just enjoying the nice day and looking at all of the marble.

This morning, we decided to visit Arlington Cemetery or, as Max put it, and outside a-seum.  There was lots and lots and lots of walking to do!

A nice lady talked to him, and Max went and hid in Daddy's legs.  So sweet!
There were lots of places to pause and pick up sticks along the way.  At one point, we had six in one hand.

I thought the flowers outside the Memorial Auditorium were really pretty.

Rise, Shine and Read

Max read to me from Sweet Dream Kisses this morning while I got ready.  He likes to identify the people in the pictures and give them friend names.  Max, Maxie, Meleia and Maria go on LOTS of adventures.  Mommy and Daddy get to come on some when there is room, too!

Let's go visit a farm today

Thursday, we asked Max what he would like to do this weekend.  He said 'Go visit farm,' so that is what we did!  We went to the Kids' Farm at the National Zoo.  Max had lots of fun and saw cows, llamas, goats, chickens, pigs and donkeys.

As we pulled up, he started reciting from 'Baby On the Farm' and said 'Let's go visit farm today.  Animals say.  Cows mooo, horses neigh.....'  He is a clever cookie!

Morning Rambling Man

Max likes to have projects while I get things together in the morning.  Today, he was sharing his milk with the mail slot.  I tried to get a picture of it, but he was not cooperating, so here are two other cute looks from this morning.

Max continues to amaze us.  After books before bed, Ian turns Max around on his lap so they can talk to each other and says 'tell me about your day.'  For the last couple of days, Max turns around and asks US to talk about our days first.  So cute!

He's working out please and thank you.  He'll do please when he really, really wants something.  Thank you, not so much.  But 'you're welcome' becomes 'I'm welcome' anytime he gives you anything.

Yesterday, he got the only cookie while at a play date with Sophie and Bebe because he was the only kid being so good.  We are so proud of him!

I had a couple of friends over on Sunday.  Max loved 'the ladies,' and took them on a tour of his backyard.  They were very impressed we have both grass and fences back there.

Max is a scratcher, so we are working very, very hard on the no hitting/no pushing/no scratching/no pinching idea.  His biggest problem is riding in the stroller with Meleia.  Reaching over to scratch is so tempting!  Maria said that two days ago he rode in the stroller with his hands straight out in front, where he could see them and be sure they weren't being bad.  Yesterday, he was reaching across with one hand to scratch and using the other hand to pull the bad hand back.  Too funny!

Frat Rat

Max is ready to go to Vandy football games.  He even has a go-cup for the long walk to the stadium!

He's very into the shovel lately.  He calls it his steam shovel and uses it to (s)coop up just about everything we see.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

We got out the Easter decorations, as well as the bunny ears.  Max thinks they are very fun to play with.  He like to stretch the headband out a bit and call them a rainbow.  They also remind him of Ruby's ears from the Max & Ruby book and Tupperware-ish thing.

Breakthrough!

Saturday morning, Max walked right over to the fire boots, put them on, and paraded around the house.  He's a funny one!

He turned his crawling cabinet into the 'fire house' and takes his fire hats and boots in there to do fire things.

This is the life

Last night, we had backyard play time after Miss Maria.  There was a ton to be done!  We started off playing fire man.

Then it was on to picking 'flowers' for Mommy.

 Then general adventuring...

Until we found the trike!  Last fall, he couldn't climb onto it by himself.  But now the big boy sure can!

 So pretty outside!

We played in the flower beds, throwing dirt against the house and seeing what happened.
Then back to being a fireman - this time complete with a hose.  He would say 'hose, whoooooooosh' as he sprayed 'water.'

Then over to Mr. Tree to see what is going on.

 We are having fun!
Then gathering all the toys and the wheelbarrow and bringing them back to the patio for the night.  Such a helper!
