It's a bird, it's a plane...

Evelyn had lots of fun playing Super Girl-Ballerina-Swimming Lessons today.  She kept running around yelling 'I fy-ing!!!'  She had this on for over an hour, took it off for naps, and then immediately put it back on for the rest of the night.
Max, not to be outdone, spent much of his afternoon in a War of 1812 outfit.  He made friends with the little girl who lives behind us and they spent a good hour fighting a battle across the fence.

Wreathed in Advent

We had lots of fun making the Advent wreath this morning.  Evelyn was particularly excited to be a part of the activity - she's usually in the nursery during Sunday school.
We also spent a little time checking out Max's classroom for NEXT year.
To demonstrate how into the process she was, Evelyn wanted to be sure to sign our family into the workshop.
She also wanted to carry the wreath ('it too heavy, Moma!') out after we finished.

Wild Turkeys

Oh, my little turkeys had so much fun this Thanksgiving!  They really enjoyed looking for funny hats and costumes at the Turkey Trot race.  Max and I 'ran' the first 1.5 miles, and he did a great job.  Evelyn was happy to sit in her stroller, but did do some little jogs with us after we stopped to watch the rest of the runners finish - she loved the idea of getting cheers for jogging!
After the race, we came home for tomato soup and playtime.  Max's favorite game at the moment is Egyptians (the underwear is, obviously, what ancient Egyptians wore.  Oh, and hats - I'll have to get a picture of the hats).  He used Ian's excercise bands to rig up a system of dragging the toy boxes across the room to build the Sphinx.  Then he played sarcophagus, laying completely still in the middle of the 'Sphinx' - even when poked or tickled - like a real dead pharaoh would do.

We had a delicious dinner at the Hallmans's house.  Max thought they were just hilarious, pretending to fall asleep in the chair.  It was late when we left, but not quite THAT late!

Stone Soup Celebration

Max and his class had a fun time at the celebration! He made the cabbage in the centerpiece and the red rock with fireworks on it. His teachers are Miss Marcia and Miss Michael. We love being Helping Hands!

Colors

Evelyn has become a prolific artist. Tonight she asked to 'do colors' while I cooked. She drew apples, smiley faces, babies and Minnie Mouse.

Monkey Man

I can't believe how strong my Monkey Man is!

Joyful Singers

This is a Nigerian Folk Song.  The kids loved it!

Pilgrim party!

Max requested the pilgrim play set, so we got it out tonight. The kids had a ball. Max liked the cart and buggy, and Evelyn liked to put the people on the benches.

The Veteran's Day hell froze over

We decided the kids should have a special Veterans Day treat, and Ian suggested we try Chuck E Cheese. It was a hoot!
