Max loves to play on our bed. It is definitely a favorite activity. He hides behind the pillows, climbs up them, and throws himself against them. He thinks it is lots of fun!

More words
When Max and I had dinner tonight, I realized how many words he has that I forgot to include this morning. I'm blanking on several, but here are a few more:
- E - eat
- Dah - dog
- Nose
- Pay - play
- UH-oh
- uh-huh
- KI-ming - climbing
- HI-ing - hiding
- bur - bird
- tain - train
- buh - book
- BAY-be - baby
- sah-cuh - soccer
- sing - swing
- keening - cleaning
He also barks and meows on command. He's a funny boy!
Wordy gurdy
Max has a decent list of words now. It's enough for us to be able to figure out most of his needs - hooray! I wanted to try to capture a list of them for posterity:
- Daddy
- Mommy
- Mik - milk
- Cah - car
- tuck - truck
- Stets - steps
- Sit
- No (whoever I'm talking to is not supposed to do what they are doing)
- No no (I'm not supposed to do this)
- book
- Ba - paci
- Fie - fire (in pictures in Goodnight Moon and other books)
- Duck
- Shee - sheep
- Poopoo - I've pooped my diaper
- Shoes
- Sauce - socks
- Hat
- Fee - feet
He also knows the noises for fire trucks, cars, ducks, pigs, sheep, horses and cows. A truck drove by the house while he was still in his crib this morning, and we heard him say 'tuck! TUCK! voom, voom, voom'
He can also point to his eyes, ears, nose, mouth, tongue, feet and toes. We're working on tummy, hands, neck and cheeks. He can also identify other people's eyes, ears, nose, mouth, tongue, feet and toes - just don't ask him to point to your nose or he will shove his finger up it! He can identify all the same parts on pictures of people, too.
M is for Max
Fall is definitely here - at least for the early part of this week! I thought he couldn't get cuter, but these longalls may just prove me wrong.
We spend a lot of time talking to the elephant and making him walk around. Max makes a pretty good elephant noise!
Twink-a-dinks!
We checked out a new church on Sunday. Probably not our final choice, but it was a good way to spend Sunday morning. Most of the family services up here start at 9, so you are done by 10:30. It's pretty efficient! Max wore a very traditional outfit - khakis and a button down.
So traditional, in fact, that he and Daddy were Twinkies!

It's Fall, Ya'll
The weather cooled off here yesterday afternoon. Today Max is in full-blown fall gear, complete with a sweater to wear outside.
Silly Mommy, it's not that cold!I'm excited for fall!
2 Things
Max went to his first birthday party yesterday, for his new friend Lilly. They had one of those inflatable bounce houses, and he really liked it. He got a goody bag, most of which he can't have, but these glasses were in it. I tried to capture a pic of him in them, but wasn't quite fast enough. We'll try again when Ian gets back in town, because it is hilariously cute.
Secondly, Max is a character. He wears his bib for all of his meals with Miss Maria. Last night, I did not put it on him when I put his food on his tray. He reached over, grabbed it, and put it on his chest. Only then would he eat! (and no, he did not put it on correctly as is shown in the picture. I did that!)
Milk on the steps
Max wanted to stop for a milk break on our way downstairs last night. He really likes to sit on the steps and look out the window. It's even more fun to do it with a drink!
Then we headed downstairs to play with our blocks. I thought he was so cute in his longall from behind!

Dinner with a big boy
Max learns a lot from Maxie during the course of the day. He has improved in his silverware use 100% since he started watching how Maxie eats. Now, he gets mad at us if we don't give him silverware or if we try to help too much!
Right off the fork like a big boy!
But still using his hand to make sure the food gets all the way in his mouth. Wouldn't want to take it to the next level too quickly!
Looking around
Max spends lots of time just roaming around the house, checking out what he finds and exploring his surroundings.
We often find him like this, squatting over a book, toy, magazine, shoe or whatever else, checking it out in detail.Monday, September 12, 2011
One-man moving company
Max L-O-V-E-S moving things up and down the upstairs hallway. The potty, laundry baskets and his tunnel are all current faves.
Seriously, Mom. Enough pictures!
Always on the move...
I want to go DOWNSTAIRS!
Max has discovered the joy of screaming at the top of his lungs when he wants something. Fortunately, it makes me laugh so it's not too annoying to us. It is, however, VERY annoying to him when we don't respond!

Potty love!
Max got his first potty this weekend and he loves it. He carries it all over the house and likes to sit on it a lot!
Happy to sit on the pot!Look at me!
