Cuter than the Downy bear, that's for sure

I came around the corner this morning and found Max helping Lucy do laundry. He was good at being sure the laundry basket stayed on the floor instead of floating away! Looking at some socks
Oooooh, nice carpet
WHY am I still in this basket?!
Because laundry baskets are fun! Yay for laundry days!

Just another night around here

Daddy and Max had a long conversation while Max ate his baby guacamole. Max showed Daddy how to make lots of fishy faces
Then we did more crawling...
...so we could get places, pull up, and look around like a big boy!

Big Boy Jams

Sadness! Max has outgrown almost all of his footed baby jams, so he's switched over to big-boy clothes for sleeping. He's still a cutie!

Chug-a-chug-a, Chug-a-chug-a, Choo, Choo!

We rode the train at the zoo. This time all the kids were quiet when we went through the tunnel, so Max had a very good ride. He looked out at the world outside the train the whole time and barely moved an inch. He was fascinated. When we first got on the train, he wanted to check out the seat.
Could we love this child any more?
No, we definitely could not!

Zoobilee Zoo

Still can't go to the zoo without singing Zoobilee Zoo's theme song to Max. C'est la vie! We went to the zoo this weekend - twice! It was pretty and Max needed to get out for a bit, so we went back this afternoon. He is hilarious. I am pretty sure he realized there are animals at the zoo for the first time this afternoon. We pulled up to the American Elk, and two of them were sleeping right below us. All of the sudden, Max started straining to get a better angle. We spent a long time looking at them. He wanted to look more closely at all the exhibits. This was the way he looked just about every time I stopped the stroller. He got out to look at almost everything.
Then we found the swings at the playground. Major discovery!

Baby Guacamole

We are working on expanding Max's food universe as well as encouraging him to develop self-feeding skills. He's aced the star friends, so we moved on this weekend to avocado and cream cheese blended together and spread on whole wheat bread. We started calling it avocado cheese, but I think baby guacamole has a better ring to it. How dare you take a picture while I enjoy these scrumptious bites?! I LOVE baby guacamole!
He would shove it in his mouth and then show us as he worked his way through 3 or 4 chunks of bread at a time.
Getting pretty good:
Soooo delighted!
For those who are curious, baby guacamole is pretty good. It's yummy!

Bath Time Gets Creative

On all of our travels, we have to get creative at times with bath time. Here are some cuties of Max in a sink:

Playing in the Yard

It is so pretty here right now! After our walk last night we stopped to play in the yard for a while. Max used Daddy as a jungle gym: And then he tried some self-standing, which went pretty well in 8-10 second bursts:
Yay for standing!
Then we decided to lean on Daddy some more and show him the pollen pods on the grass:
And finally, a big post-adventure hug before heading inside for dinner:

Bathroom Bandit

We have a bathroom bandit on our hands. First he makes his way into the bathroom as fast as he possibly can go Then, he pulls up as fast as possible and starts opening and closing the cabinet door
As soon as he's had his fill, he drops to his knees and makes a break for the door at top speed, not even looking back to say 'who, me?!' when we ask who it was making all that racket

24 Hour Virus

Poor Max! He had a 24 hour bug Tuesday-Wednesday. He was not feeling so hot, but was a good little patient and is back to normal. Here are some cuties from last night's play time: I'm cute even with my eyes closed:
Oh, it's good to be me
I Seeeeeeee you
Give me that camera, Mommy!

First Steps

Well, one kind of steps at least! I found him playing on the first step yesterday. After just a couple of tries, he had managed to go all the way up to the landing. Looks like we're going to have to really start paying attention...

Going to the chapel...

Aunt Syd and Uncle P got married earlier this month. Max and Mommy flew to Houston early so they could get ready for the big event. Max is a trooper on planes - he likes to look out the window before the plane takes off:
Looking out the windows:
Trying toast crackers for the first time, and we're not too sure how he feels about them...
AH, back in the high chair with normal food. Thank goodness!
Another morning spent at the windows:
This face always makes me smile:
VERY focused: There was lots of crawling to be done at the brunch:
