School Days

Evelyn has been working in the office more.  I will miss her when she goes back 4 days a week next week!  The good news is that Piper, who has coopted Max's office desk for much of the day, will still be here to keep me company!

Happy Campers

Dad came up with the idea and set up the tent, while Mom provided the sandwiches and s'mores for a kids-only campout in the backyard.  Evelyn came in around 10, and Max made the whole night solo.  Camping in the yard is the best!

Lincoln Douglas, it was not

Max and Ian enjoyed watching the final Trump-Biden debate together.

Kiddos, here are some of the treasures Tricia found cleaning out my closet at their house.

Run for it!

Even the wet, dreary weather didn't stop Max from completing his cross country homework: hill sprints and then flat sprints.  A lot of work and a lot of fun!

Boo-yeah

The 3rd grade is spreading Halloween cheer with a game of BOO.  We got BOOed and BOOzed yesterday.  So fun!

Upper School Room

In honor of joining the Upper School, Max got to update his room.  He picked an Astros theme, with MLB bedding and a new comforter to replace his (and Uncle P's) old quilt as well as a new, bigger rug.  It's a great room for sleeping, and looks fabulously upper school-y in the background of Zoom school!

Voters

We all trekked down to the Election Commission to do our part to save the free world.  Great lessons on democracy, the fact that there are more then 2 parties, the importance of researching ballot initiatives in advance, and how to bubble in a square completely without going 1 iota outside the lines.  Proud of our future voters and loving our voting stickers!

MCM 10K

One year ago this month, I ran the MCM 10K.  I had planned to run-walk it, and ended up running the whole thing, in a downpour, without dying.  It was hard and joyful, and was the moment I decided I could be a runner.  I decided to be the kind of person who gets up and gets it done every morning.  This morning, I ran the virtual MCM 10K (thanks, Covid), and celebrated a year of better health, better mental health, and a lot of fun.
