Moment of Impact

The very moment Max's fist went through the board.

Max broke his first board at Tar Kwon Do. He also earned his patch for learning the creed. He is very proud of himself, as are we!

She's back in business

Evelyn is still cranky, but she's back in the swing of the day to day, and eating (finally) like a monster to make up for her time without an appetite.

She always helps do the dishes after she eats!

Evelyn is miserably sick this week. Poor baby!

Max told me that when he went to gymnastics without her he felt lonely.

After 3 hours of crying this morning, she finally fell asleep!

Evelyn had her 18 month checkup this morning. It is hard for me to believe she's already 1.5! She's 20lb, 14 oz (25%), 32.25" (65%) and 18.5" head (70%). The doctor said she looks great and is growing nicely.

Unfortunately, her fever is bouncing between 102 and 103, so it turned into a sick visit as well as her checkup. Hopefully, she'll be back to well soon - she is miserable today.

A Formal Affair

Sasha Hallman's 15th birthday was a fancy party. The kids had a ball dancing and eating fancy food. Evelyn, amusingly, was having no part in the dancing. Then 'All the Single Ladies' came on and she started dancing. It was precious!

Max would only pose for pre-party pics with Evelyn if I promised to take pictures of him with the fire truck book we checked out from the library this morning. Max got his own library card today. So responsible!

Girly Girl

The boys had not even pulled out of the driveway before Evelyn started getting herself all dolled up. She found the napkin rings in a drawer and went to work putting them on-and-off as bracelets. She had a full arm of silver - very trendy!

Tae Kwon Do

Max started Tae Kwon Do on Monday. To be more accurate, he went to the TKD school on Monday, took one look at the 6 year-olds class, and hid behind a chair. By the end of the little kids class (called the 'lil samurais), he was sitting on a chair with his head on Ian's shoulder saying he thought it looked like fun. He went back on Tuesday, and while still scared got a private lesson from one of the teachers.

Today, he finally did a real class with the other kids, had a great time, and earned both his white belt and the 'self discipline' stripe. He really seems to like it - he practices at home and pays attention to the technique critiques. Evelyn tries to do TKD too - she holds her hands up to her face and lifts her leg for kicks.

These are pictures of Max and Ian 'warming up' before heading to class today. He didn't have his white belt yet, so the top of his uniform was really baggy. Be sure to check out the great hem job Mom did on his pants - we had to take in 6 inches!
