- He is very in to reading. Now, instead of pointing at the pictures and telling us what things are or asking us questions, he grabs OUR fingers and points at the things.
- He is starting to get demanding about what he eats. While he was perfectly happy to eat chicken pot pie last night, he cried about it not being tortellini each time I stopped singing while feeding him. The boy LOVES tortellini.
- He's still really into identifying what is real and what is pretend. He gets this look of terror on his face and then starts saying 'fake, fake, fake' if a toy makes too authentic of a sound.
- Speaking of fear, Max is COMPLETELY freaked out by the little mini-thunderstorms that happen in the veggie section of the grocery store. For the second week in a row, we were parked by the asparagus when the lighting began. He was inconsolable and threw himself into the corner of the cart the farthest from the storm, crying the whole time. It took him a good 10 minutes to calm down.
- Max has started to really love having a blanket in his crib. When he kicks it off, he gets upset and starts asking for 'blAAAIIINNNkey, blAAAAAAINNNkey' while standing up in the crib. As soon as you put it on him, he lies down and goes right to sleep. Or lies there and talks more, depending on his mood.

Sweet Things About Max
a-VENter in the yard
We tell Max that we are having family adventures when we go out on the weekends. Now, every time he goes outside he calls it an adventure. Here we are exploring the yard this weekend.

First Snow Day!
Max liked talking about snow suits, and looking at them, but he was NOT a happy camper when he first put his on! And, in COMPLETELY predictable fashion, he said 'poo poo diaper change' the second I put his second glove on. Awesome. After that little fiasco, we were out to play!
Max loved the snow - we were outside for an hour and a half.He got very intrigued by the ice-covered tree in the front yard and all the icy bushes in the back. He spent a long time 'hiding' in them.
After our long snow adventure,w e came inside for snack time. He kept saying 'cold goldfishies brrrrrr'

Caught You Cute
Max definitely never shuts himself inside the gate to try to run away from us. Never.
This is his 'Mom, I don't like this' face
But you put a book in this kids hands, and suddenly, he's totally happy!
And his awesome vest/sweatshirt outfit is a thoughtful Christmas gift from Miss Lucy!

Good morning!
This morning, Max said 'Mommy Daddy love' when I first came in to get him. When I said 'I love you too, Max,' he said 'die-pa change?' in his most pitiful voice. He's a sweetie!
In the car driving over to Maxie's house, Max unprompted said 'I listen Maria,' which made me laugh - every morning I tell him he needs to listen to Maria today. He then said 'I listen Maxie, I listen Bebe, I listen Baby.'

Just chilling
We hung out at home Sunday afternoon and got lots of good relaxing in. Max had lots of fun playing!
For this last picture, he ran up to the landing and started saying CHEESE at the top of his lungs. He knows what to do when it is picture time!
CUTIE PIE!
This little guy is quite the ham. He loves being the center of attention!
Sunday, I brought him to big church for communion and then took him back to play while I taught Sunday school. When I came back to get him, the three nursery teachers were sitting in a row, each with two kids on their lap. Max was standing in front of the group, talking and laughing and dancing and having a complete ball.
Yesterday, Ian and I took him for lunch. He talked to ever person who came in or out of the restaurant, welcoming them, playing peek-a-boo, and then saying bye. He loved all the attention!
Story Time
There were so many hilarious noises coming from the stairs this weekend that I had to see what was up. The fire trucks were having a BIG adventure!

More reading
Max is starting to memorize lines from his favorite books. During Llama Llama, he said 'get the seat' right on cue, and he did the same with the 'rock and rock and rock to sleep' line at the end of The Going to Bed Book. Here he is reading in our bed while I got ready this morning.

Good morning!
Max comes into our room for reading time some mornings. He loves to get under all the sheets and blankets and snuggle up with us to read. It's a great way to start the day!
Teeth Time
Before bed, Max takes hit vitamins and brushes his teeth. There's always much to be explored in the bathroom while he waits!
Lately, he's started to ask to brush his own teeth once the main brushing is done. He's an independent cutie!
