First scrimmage for the Reds was a win for the team and a great showing at bat and as catcher for Max!

 

Summer Vacation 2021 - OBX

We enjoyed a much-needed week on Hatteras Island for our summer break.  The drive down was long but pleasant, and when we settled in to Sandcastle II, Evelyn went right to work as our waitress.

The next morning, Mom was up to see the sunrise while the rest of the crew rested up for a long day at the beach.  Boogie boarding is, truthfully, the best.

We all awoke before dawn on August 23 to head out for a sunrise beach horseback ride in honor of Evelyn's 9th complete trip around the sun.  Evelyn rode Roxy and Max rode Dusty.

Another day, another sunrise run on the beach, followed by a very competitive game of Upwords, fun in the sun, and general good times.

Max was worn out Wednesday morning, so he slept in and we all got ready to hit the parasails, followed by celebratory shrimp cocktails.

We played a three-day long Monopoly game to the death.  We took out the boys early, and then duked it out as a twosome for the rest of the trip.

The last morning, Max joined Mom and Piper for a sunrise stroll before packing up the house, dropping by the Wright Brothers memorial site, and heading back to home, sweet home.  It was a great trip!
