We spent the morning on a glorious early-fall day hiking to the top of the Dome in what is one of the most exclusive DC experiences. It was amazing to see the painted ceiling just feet above our heads, to walk in the walls between the original dome and the modern cast iron dome, to look down on the tourists on the floor of the Capitol rotunda, and to step out onto the balcony for what is absolutely a top-five DC insider experience. The views were breathtaking and the perspective refreshing. So glad Senator Feinstein's legislative director was willing to take us up!
